Snoopy(Sacramento)

Thought I would update you on Atticus [formerly known as Snoopy (Sacramento)]. He pretty quickly was house trained. He and Scheherazade stopped beating each other up after a couple of weeks and are besties. He has slept through the night in bed since day one. His barking has slowly become nearly non existent and he now barks when he hears something that he doesn't recognize; he's otherwise quiet. He has become an unmotivated office worker.---Michelle K., 15Mar2024. Adopted 19Jan2024.

Sally

Sally is doing well. The vet guesses she is now approx 5 yrs old. She was found wandering along a rural road, presumably dumped, and spent a couple weeks in a shelter before we rescued her through GGBR. Since we adopted Sally, she was spayed and had some dental work completed since she had some broken teeth. (Vet thinks she likely was chewing on a chain). She loves her walks and is an excellent tracker (the best in 43 years of owning bassets). I think she could match a bloodhound! She puts herself to bed at 6 pm and is out for the night. She has filled a huge hole left by our dear departed Luke. We call her the Ethel Merman of basset hounds because she can really belt out her barks when she wants her walks! __C.P. August 23, 2023

Scarlett

I've had Scarlett for almost 5 months. She still gets a little nervous when she hears a loud sound. She follows me everywhere and sleeps with me! I just love her. So glad I have her.---C.C., August 22, 2023

Sundae

After losing one of our girls, Riley to cancer at only 7 years old we weren't totally sure that we were ready to adopt another dog, but decided that we would start the adoption process with GGBR anyway. We just wanted to see how we felt. Well we found a hound that we liked but she went to another family. After that we were so disappointed and that is when we knew that we were ready for sure! Within a few weeks GGBR contacted us about a basset in our area that was coming up for adoption. We went to see Sundae and fell in love. She fits into our family better than we could have imagined. She is so sweet and loving and is now inseparable with our other Basset, Bella. Also since Sundae moved in no one in the house has any socks, turns out that’s her favorite toy! Thank you GGBR for Sundae and all that you do for Basset Hounds in need. Jennifer
