Bowie

Nathan wrote: Sam (Bowie) and Jake are having a great time being brothers. 2 long walks pretty much everyday in the Sierra Mountains above Carson City. Sam is one oversized Basset Hound. Very smart and full of Basset Hound love!!! Few bad habits but he's learning. Very few things they can't do in this home.... Personal chef (me) and grain free dog food. Sam is quite the hunter. We suspect from being in the wild for so long. We love him dearly and he has truly landed in a field of clover! Thank you! We will send a pic now and then...HugZ

Rosebud

Hello! I wanted to write you and give you an update on our sweet Rosebud "Rosie" Michaels. We just love her to pieces and feel like she was always supposed to be here with us. My daughter and her are really best of friends as you can see in these images. Originally she was an outside dog with her previous owner. Now...we have to really force her outside just to use the restroom! She loves the inside world and is such a cuddle bug! Before her no animals were allowed on our couch. But I simply could not resist cuddling up to this little sausage of a dog! We actually call her Sausage because she reminds us of a a sausage with short legs! LOL! Overall, she has adapted quite well to our home. She gets along well with all of our animals and is very playful with our other dog. In fact they love each other to pieces. I was so grateful for that because our other basset (whom we loved just as much) did not really play with the other dog. Now Rosie plays with Ellie all of the time. They actually tire each other out! Rosie has also become my Starbucks buddy. She runs errands in the car with me and loves to be in the front seat with me. Thank you for this wonderful person, err I mean dog! We love her and she is part of the family! Sincerely, The Michaels Family Ryan, Tori, Amiah, & Tessa

Charlie (male)

we are the people that adopted charlie from the sacramento area thanks to golden gate rescue. he is without a doubt an amazing dog. charlie is our 3rd basset and comes a close second to being the best. he was kind of house broken when we got him about 2 months ago, all it takes is paying attention and he let's you know when he needs a walk. he loves playing ball with his choc. labr brother trigger. they are so funny together. charlie does hot laps around the house and it is a riot. that is probably the only time he barks. we have not heard him howl yet, and he doesn't talk at all. he likes to sneak up on the furniture when we aren't home, but mostly sleeps in his bed. we couldn't be happier and that is the truth. jill and maarten de witte

James (aka Junior)

Denise says:James is great! I just love him so much, he's a prefect addition to my little family here. He and my blind girl Bonnie are the best of friends. I can take him anywhere and he's very good, unless I leave a cup of Starbucks in my cupholder while I'm in the store(they love to run errands with me, gives him a change to let the air from the car window blowdry his face). He also won 1st place at the Wags N Wuvs Event recently.

Flash (renamed Jack)

It was bound to happen to us. We fostered many wonderful hounds during the past 2+ years, becoming attached to each and then letting each one move on to its forever family. Having convinced ourselves that our 3 dogs were all we could handle long term, we foolishly felt confident that we would never take on a permanent 4th dog. Then along came Flash, surrendered to the Lake Shasta shelter by his owners. A foster that we volunteered to care for just for the weekend, Flash settled in, we fell in love, adopted him, and the rest is history! Flash, renamed Gentleman Jack Flash, easily won us over with his gentle ways, youthful enthusiasm, adoration of us, and ease of blending into the family. In addition to that, he is totally perfect and darn cute! We couldn't love Jack more than we do and every day we marvel at how happy all of us are that Jack is a permanent part of our expanded family. MIke and Sally Mitchell, Lily, Dazy, Becky & now Jack
