JASMINE IS BLOOMING!

"When my foster parents picked me up at the shelter in September, they could not believe how terribly fearful I was. When we arrived at their home, it took them a long time to get me into the house...they eventually had to carry me. For the first day or so, I ran & hid from them if I saw them looking my way. Wow, am I different now!! I love to snuggle, sit in my foster parents' laps, and follow them around the house and yard, wagging my tail all the while. I happily greet friends who visit,  I love to play tirelessly and enthusiastically with other dogs, I am not protective of my food (I am a verrry slow eater), I am well-behaved and housebroken. I have a sweet, gentle nature if I say so myself!

I am almost  ready for adoption! My forever family needs to know that  I have had some skin problems that have been treated with medications. When I came out of the shelter, I was itchy all the time, my skin was inflamed and I had some major bald spots. I have been on medications and my skin is 100% better. I am on a special diet for my skin, Hill's salmon and potato, and I probably need to continue to be bathed once a week just in case. I will be off all my medications in early November and will be spayed at that time.

I am a small basset hound and could use some weight gain which has been a challenge since I am not an eager eater. I don't bark much, usually just when I am playing, particularly when I am playing chase with another dog. My foster parents have never heard me whine.  I love to be on furniture and most of the time I prefer sleeping with my foster parents and their dogs in their bed. I love going on walks, letting my foster parents know that when they take their boy dog on a walk each morning, that I want to go as well.

My foster parents are amazed at what a happy and lovely hound I have become.  They believe that whoever adopts me will be overjoyed with what a loving, sweet little girl I am. It is obvious to them that their little Jasmine is blossoming!!'
Jasmine would do best in a home with another dog to play with and keep her company.
*** Jasmine has a very mild case of luxated patella on her left leg which has been evaluated by a vet.  At this time surgery is not recommended.
