Duke is a mix who came to us after he was surrendered by his owner to the 3 Hearts Veterinary Hospital. The owner did not want to pay for nor care for Duke after he learned that Duke was diagnosed with Heartworm. Duke who had a mild case, became a favorite at the vet hospital after they became aware that he was a sweet, happy dog. Although he doesn't look much like a basset, we took him in to GGBR with the assurance that the vet hospital would provide and cover all the expenses for his heartworm treatment. The video they provided to GGBR of Duke showed his lovely personality and we had a foster home immediately willing to provide care for him. He did well in his foster home, going through the months of treatment incuding having his activities limited because of the treatment process. 

The meet and greet with his potential adoptive family was successful and the family is looking forward to his being declared free of heartworm and released to them.
